2022-23 GE Allocations
APPLICATION PROCESS
- You will need to carefully review the position descriptions attached to each upcoming email, including the requirements and selection criteria, to identify the positions for which you believe you’re qualified and intend to apply for.
- Review and update your resume to ensure it is current.
- CURRENT students will be asked to identify two PPPM faculty who will serve as references for you. If you have served as a GE in another department, one of your references may be your supervising faculty member from that position(s).
- INCOMING students will not be asked to supply references; if needed, supervising faculty will refer to the letters of recommendation that are part of your application packet.
- Each position will include questions asking you to rate your ability level for each of the skills related to the position, as described in the position description.
- Each position will contain a supplemental question(s), each with a 200-word limit. The positions related to PPPM classroom instruction will all ask the same question: “Please describe why you are qualified for this position.”
The position announcements will include links to two identical Qualtrics forms. The first is for PRACTICE, which provides you with an opportunity to review the form and process and prepare your answers. No one will review or access any of the data entered in the PRACTICE form. The second link is the LIVE survey where you will submit your final responses when you’re ready.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applications for the IPRE positions will be reviewed by IPRE faculty. Selected applicants will be invited to follow-up interviews. IPRE hiring recommendations will be sent to the PPPM GE Committee.
Applications for the remaining positions will be reviewed by each supervising faculty, who will make their hiring recommendations to the PPPM GE Committee.
PPPM awards GE position based on merit, using selection criteria specific to each position. When several candidates for a particular position are judged to be equally rated, we attempt to balance GE distribution across our three graduate programs.
