Caroline DeBruine (she/her)

Hello everyone! I am a fourth-year double majoring in PPPM and environmental studies. I am also in the Honor’s College and will complete my undergraduate thesis within the PPPM department this year. My thesis will explore minimum parking requirements in Eugene, which connects to my broader career interests in sustainability and equitable planning. After college, I hope to go into city and transportation planning. In my free time love to read, hike, and do crafts! The kindness and inclusivity within the PPPM department rekindled my passion for learning, so I look forward to giving back to the community this year! cdebruin@uoregon.edu

Natalie Hawkins (she/her)

Hi everyone! I am a fourth-year student from Honolulu, Hawai’i majoring in PPPM with a minor in Political Science. My passion lies in enacting real change within our governmental institutions, and I aim to work in politics or the public sector in the future. As a student I have been fortunate to pursue this passion through the PPPM major, as well as my current role on ASUO as the Contracts Finance Committee Chair. Additionally, I have gained valuable experiences through opportunities in the Oregon State Legislature and the US Senate. My interest in this field of work stems from my desire to advocate for more equitable and representative polices in our country and to push for greater diversity within our governmental intuitions. I am incredibly grateful to have found a supportive community that shares these aspirations in the PPPM department. I am excited to serve on this board and get the chance to know everyone in the community better! Please feel free to reach out to me via email at nhawkins@uoregon.edu. I look forward to connecting with you all!

Kerry Kantscheidt (she/her)

Hello! I am a second-year PPPM major, with minors in Global Health and French. I am from Upstate New York, and very new to Oregon! I am also the FIG advisor for “The Future We Want to Build”, so I am working with students who are taking one of their first PPPM classes! My interests in PPPM are mostly on the policy and urban planning side, but I’m still trying to figure out exactly what I am most interested in! I also love music and theatre, and I am on the figure skating team! At home, I am a ski instructor, so I am one of the crazy people skiing with a group of three-year-olds! I can be reached at kkantsch@uoregon.edu

Shayna Meltzer (she/her)

Hello! I am in my last year as an undergraduate majoring in PPPM, with a minor in Global Service. I am interested in social infrastructure, and ways to further social justice through community organizing and cultural programming. PPPM allows me to take courses in so many subjects relating to a variety of my interests. This summer I went on the NGOs in Southeast Asia study abroad program and I hope to pursue work in international development moving forward. Outside of PPPM, I work with the Oregon Student Association to advocate for policy legislation regarding gender and sexuality and teach Hebrew at a local school. This is my third and final year on SAB, and I look forward to another year serving the PPPM community! I can be reached at smeltzer@uoregon.edu.
